A Weekend Away

Matt and I attended a wedding last weekend in DC.  Without the girls.  The last time I was away from Charlotte overnight was when I gave birth to Cailin (exactly a year ago).  It just seemed easier though to leave the girls here instead of in a hotel while we attended the wedding.  Matt's parents graciously offered to come stay with them.  Everything went great.  The girls had fun though and it was relaxing for us to be kid-free for 36 hours.

At the wedding someone commented "You guys need to get away more" but we've never felt like that.  Our kids come with us when we "get away".  Charlotte has been to more countries than most American adults.  And both girls have been to more states than the average American.

The wedding was wonderful though.  An evening in DC in a fancy hotel with an amazing view, delicious food, and wonderful people.  I felt very important walking around Washington in my very high (and oh so uncomfortable) heels.

Ready for a night out

Out to dinner with friends Friday.
My head is blocking Matt, but he was there

Wedding time!

Charlotte was happy to hear she'd be joining us for our next big trip but we were thankful for a night away.
